Hey! I am Ashley, a garden lover, a natural beauty products enthusiast and the creative mind behind Mom Jeans and Garden Things! I started this blog as a way to share all the things I learned about indoor gardening while my family lived in Alaska.

After living in the lower 48 for my entire life, moving to Alaska was quite the culture shock. I’d enjoyed the benefits of living in the southern half of the United States which meant SUPER long growing seasons. Once in Alaska, my growing season was a grand total of 2.5 months!

1. How did you Find time to Garden?

Your gardening journey is personal, so to create a garden that brings you joy, you work within the time constraints you have and make intentional choices about what you grow.

3. How do you keep pests away from your pests?

I try to use a variety of organic methods of pest control including attracting beneficial insects, and using companion planting, but I have had to employ some pesticides when large infestations occurred.

2. When should I start my garden?

You can start your garden at anytime of year. It may require a little creative planning but it’s never the wrong time to start a garden!

4. How did you decide what type of Garden to do?

I knew that eventually I would move so, I have always chosen garden layouts that could easily be moved or garden types that allowed for more flexibility such as container and indoor hydroponics.
